On 9/15/04, my cervix opened up at exactly 22 weeks. Because I had an incredible nurse who referred us to an awesome peri, a rescue cerclage was performed the following day.
Then, on 9/30/04, my water broke. We made it to 10/6/04, when I developed a fever which made the docs suspect an infection. I delivered Rivi that night, at 9:00 p.m. He weighed 1 lb 13 oz, and he was 13 1/4" long. His gestational age was only 24W6D, but he was born crying! His Apgars were 8, and the doctors were cautiously optimistic. But he developed the same infection I had, and he only lived 14 hours and 43 minutes. He died at 11:43 the following morning, 10/7/04.
I miss you, Rivi. I hope you get the kisses I send you every night before bed. Your little brother smiles whenever I talk about you.
I send my heartfelt love to you in rememberance of your beautiful Rivelino. He will always be very, very special. Much love to you and little brother Dominici.
Kathryn

Girls- we are cysters by chance but friends by choice. I love you girls so much. You give me strength, courage, guidance, support, and friendship
((((hugs)))) I'll be thinking of you often over the next few weeks. Yesterday was one of my big anniversaries. I'll remember Rivi always. I don't know how Heaven works. I don't know if our babies are instantly adults or if they grow and mature like they would on Earth. I like to imagine my babies growing and I hope all our little ones find eachother so that while we comfort eachother on Earth, our children can be hand in hand in Heaven. Perhaps they even guide us to their friends mommies so they know we are not alone.
I'll be thinking of you and of Rivi over the next few weeks.
Warm wishes,

Oh Viv...my eyes teared up and I got a big lump in my throat reading your post.
Nothing I can say will make you feel better but just know that I am thinking of you and sweet little Rivi over the next few weeks. And I sure Dominic carries his big brother in his heart.
