Mommy1~ Go to User CP, then on the left (under miscellaneous) click on buddy/ignore lists. You can enter the name of people to request they be your friend. HTH!

Another way you can do it is by going to the cysters post, click her name (above her avatar) and a drop down window will pop up. On the bottom of that window it will say 'add xxxx to your friend/buddy list'. Click on that. It will then send the request to that person and then they will approve/deny/decide later.
