Hi,

I am 24 and just moved to Sydney (from UK). I dont know anyone and would love to talk to a fellow cyster re PCOS - maybe become gym buddies? I have had no luck at all with my PCOS in the UK (doctors were very unsympathetic), and now that I am married I really want to try for a baby.

I am currently on 500g metformin. Have had one period since March 2006 and suffer from a lot of unwanted hair, which I was having laser treatment for in UK but not sure where to go in Australia?

Any advice or just a friendly chat please reply

Where in Sydney are you? I have never had laser therapy, but depending on where you are, I might know of some places.

How long have you been living in Sydney? Are you planning on living here for a while?

I am almost 29, have been married for 4 years, and I have 1 son who is 15 months. I am on 1000mg of met XR.

I am based in Lakemba. I have been in Sydney (and Australia) what will be 4 weeks on Friday! I have moved here for good to be with my husband so yes we will be here for a while at least

Your son is really cute in the pictures. I hope you dont mind me asking you if you conceived him using just metformin? How long have you been taking it and have you always been on 1000mg?

After reading the comments on this website I have arranged an appointment to see Dr John Eden on 13th March. I hope he will be able to help me and give me some more advice.

I need to find a good GP to register with so if you have any suggestions that would be most welcome.

Hi -

I only started met just recently - I took 500mg (XR version) for about a month before building up to 1000mg. I have hardly had any side effects.

I conceived while on natural therapies. I saw a woman (who advertises on here actually) who specialises in PCOS. She is in Crows Nest - check out www.sensible-alternative.com.au She was great.

I am on the northern beaches so my GP is probably too far away from you.
