What a great thread I never thought about asking if they did any type of donations from past patients. I have insurence but they don't take care of anything that's fertility related. Once you get preg they're great, but in the mean time I could use the help. I think we'll be moving over to medicated cycles very soon. Thanks everyone for all the info, Nae

I'm going to call my RE -- I've got 1200 IUs of Follistim that I don't need because I just got a BFP!

Default I asked my NP

And she was sorta ignorant on the donation thing and said she thought it was illegal. Then she back tracked and said if the meds were still sealed and you had a valid RX then she thought it would be fine.

She then said that her part of the office didn't do that but that my OB might have some sort of program and for me to ask about it at my next visit.

Thanks for giving me the info to ask my NP. -Terra

I believe that if your insurance paid for the drugs (you only paid a copay) then selling them constitutes insurance fraud.

I am not in this boat, but you had better believe that if my friend/coworker etc had a script for Menopur, and I had the same prescription, and I could save hundreds of dollars, I would take her unopened, unexpired prescription.

But I wouldn't do it through SoulCysters, of course!

Not really. That would be the same as saying if you had a tv stolen, had it replaced by insurance, and then sold it that would be fraud. If it was a required med at the time of purchase then it would not be fraud....for the sake of arguement, anything but using them would be fraud.

PS whatever company makes Gonal F sure must be rich! I can't believe you can't reset the pen if you lock it on the wrong dose. You just have to squirt the dose out and start a new pen!

You should be able to reset...You can reset the Follistim pen. Did you try clicking all the way past the top dose and pressing the pen down?

So where can we go to sell our leftover meds????d

I have 3 cartridges of Follistim 300iu that I need to recoup costs for. I don't want to waste them, I'd like to see someone get some use out of it. So, where can I turn to recoup these costs? Any insight???

you could call your RE's office, they might know of a place or take them back. I am in the same boat myself, actually. I have two 900 IU vials now, and I really would like to recoup the high cost, but I don't think it's legal to sell them anywhere.
