He is on a super strict diet - of his own accord and by the Dr's - for his BP and weight loss. He eats very differently than me, eats things i despise *chuckles* - and he has everything weighed, measured, analyzed, etc. Good for him.
Me? I'm going as healthy as i can without going overboard. In three months, my medical beneifts will kick in with my job - and i am waiting until i see a Doctor and nutritionist/dietician, etc. to make serious changes - just so i know what is good and isn't for me to do with my eating and nutrition.
In the meantime, though, i am trying to watch portion control and what i eat as best as i can.
Breakfasts - well - that's another post *chuckles*
Lunches at work are usually a nice big salad or sammich, funky applesauce (splenda), and throughout the day i eat celery and carrot sticks and a string cheese in there somewhere.
Dinners - though - are another issue. I hate cooking for myself. I honestly do - that - and i don't have much time in the evenings. I LOVE the ideas of the frozen meals, but not sure which are the 'best', if any at all.
I've had the Lean Cuisines and actually liked them a good bit. Price wise they weren't too bad - about the same had i bought seperate stuff to make single meals throughout the week.
I was just curious if anyone else had any suggestions on the frozen meals?
(and, i am not interested in making my own)

I've been eating frozen dinners at work for lunch, simply for convenience. I had one last week, it was Marie Callendar's, and it was SUPER tasty. I had the spaghetti w/ meat sauce and garlic bread, and it was almost as good as if I'd made it myself, with slightly bigger portions than most frozen dinners. Not huge, but very satisfying. I also had a Stauffer's dinners the other day, it was turkey w/ dressing, mashed potatoes, and green beans w/ cranberries, and it was really tasty as well. Yesterday I had the light Ultra hot pockets in ham and cheese, and it was atrocious. The crust tasted more like gooey cardboard than anything, so I ate the guts and left the outside!
Hope my trials and tribulations w/ frozen dinners helps ya!
I like the South Beach Diet frozen dinners... & Lean Cuzine has a "whole grains" line.. I think they are "blue"... Marie Callendar's are the bomb, but not so "healthy" or low cal/low carb... I'd really read the lables...
The South Beach ones are pretty good... I especially like the beef and broccoli one.... but the boxes are huge! It's hard to fit them in my freezer! (I have a side by side fridge.)

I like the Weight Watchers smart ones because they tend to balance the proteins and carbs a bit better than some. I've also been known to have Lean Cuisine and add extra chicken. I tend to have them for lunch because they work much better for me than school food. You could also make your own frozen meals. For instance, cook a package of chicken breasts & freeze or refridgerate them. Then you would only need to add vegies or a side.
I like Lean Cuisine as well, but also like Uncle Ben's Bowls (not sure if that is the technical name, but very similar. They are in the frozen food section near the Lean Cuisine). Give them a try.

I ate the Healthy Choice dinners for awhile for a few months actually I would eat them about 3 times a week then I would cook chicken breast or salmon for the other few days. But I really liked the Healthy Choice, I kinda stuck to a few that I really liked. I did eat the Lean Cusine also, and had stouffers but stouffers isn't really to healthy on some of them. The smart ones I tried some did not fill me up I guess they are better for lunch, for me they would be better for lunch. I really ate mostly Healthy Choice and then tried a few of the others. But that is what I did just bought enough for like 3 or 4 days and then the ohter 2 or 3 I would cook like grilled chicken breast or salmon on the grill somethin still healthy but a change from frozen food.
I don't know if you have this where you live, but I think places like this are popping up all over, so you might want to check. They're places where you go to cook your own frozen dinners. They are meant for busy moms and such. Two of them here are called "At Home Dinners" and "Super Suppers". Anyway, a lot of them, you don't really have to go there and cook. If you just call them, they can prepare it for you. They have really good menus. The cheapest package the one of them here called "At Home Dinners" offers is 12 2-serving meals for $105 (that is the price when they prepare it for you). So, it works out to be $4.38 per serving, which is comparable to a grocery store frozen dinner, and it's much better food. If you want to see their menus just as an example of the kind of food these places do, here's the website for the one here called "At Home Dinners".
