Have you banned fruit completely from your diet ?
Do you avoid all fruit that has a higher glycemic index ?
I find that even the lower glycemic index fruits bother me.....but do we really need fruit in our diet ? |

I'm looking for a good protein shake.....good quality, but they are so darn expensive too.......but what else could I put in the smoothie otherwise ? |

frozen Banana, strawberries and raspberries, with apple juice. You can add frozen yogurt and stuff too, i prefer mine without.
But theres so many things to experiment with its all trial and error and what you find tastes nice.

My Mood: Points: 17,934.41 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 17,934.41 | At this point I can't even imagine what eating a banana or a pear or an apple will do to my blood sugar......I can't even tolerate berries.......so I'm not sure what to do.
Maybe try and find a good protein powder, make it more of a veggie shake, and just literally a few berries, some nuts.......I don't know......I wish I could wake up to find a chef in the kitchen whipping me up the meals I need.........HAHA...like that's ever going to happen !!!! |

Points: 0 Bank: 0 Total Points: 0 | Asda do a frozen bag and theyre not too expensive and it has banana strawberries and rasberries in(if my memory serves me) They also do a bag of just rasberries and they have a mixed one of like melon, mango and grapes and such, not my cup of tea though.
You can buy them and freeze them yourself but i find its easier to buy them frozen.
Depending on what you put in it will get you your 5 a day. The juice counts as one no matter how much you drink/put in. http://www.5aday.nhs.uk/WhatCounts/P...izesFruit.aspx great site and tells you what equals a portion of each fruit

My Mood: Points: 17,934.41 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 17,934.41 | So how come some of us can't tolerate fruit ?
I would love to eat some fruit but it sends my hunger through the roof.
I'm going to slowly try and sneak it in to shakes and see how that goes.
I'm not sure if I asked this before but, seeing as a banana is high on the glycemic index, does that mean that we have to avoid it forever ?? |
