I haven't eaten a banana, or a pear, or a peach......pretty much almost all fruits in such a LONG TIME.
When I was younger I could eat ALL fruits, I was skinny and it wasn't until my late teens that the acne starting to become a problem, but I was still skinny, then early twenties the weight came on.
Anyway, I used to love eating banana parfaits........YUMMY. |

I see them in Whole Foods but I have never tried any of them, they just look too strange to me....plus I have no idea what their glycemic index is ? |

Points: 15,552.85 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 15,552.85 | i think someone said it earlier, but i try to 'balance' fruit with some protein and it seems to be working for me... cottage cheese, pb or a slice of cheese with my fruit seems to help.
also be careful on serving sizes... i think a half cup is a serving... for many fruits that's probably only half the piece.
i think most fruit when eaten solo will send your blood sugars soaring.
as for the exotic fruit... corner the guy/gal (or even an unsuspecting shopper standing near the fruit in question) and ask questions. once you have a name for the fruit you should be able to find its glycemic index online.
or you could stop by the customer service desk and ask a bunch of questions, or even suggest next time they are doing a "sample tasting" that they put some of the exotic fruits out?

I'm just so afraid of ANY fruit at this point, so I guess exotic or not, they all have sugar and it's probably best just to stay away from fruit for now. (for me at least.) |

I still eat fruit usually at breakfast or as a snack with a protein. Tend to eat a lot of apples, pears, citrus (clemintines, orange, tangerine) berries or mangos with yogurt

I'll try them sometimes I like things like Lichee, Acai (pricey), star fruit, guava. And there is this other fruit whose name I can't remember that comes in a greenish/brown pod with a fruit that is really good

I'm not sure, but I notice that alot of exotic fruits aren't listed. |

In fact a small apple with this: cream cheese softened, splenda and cinnamon. It is so good! But it may not work if you are having a hard time tolerating fruit.

Can't do it.
