Hi,
This is my first post i've been reading this board for yrs just never had the courage to join. I am beyond frusterated i've been having weird pain in my pelvic area for over a year now. I had a diagnostic lap a month and a half ago he said there was no scar tissue and everything looked fine except my ovaries were about 3 times the normal size. He said that was causing the pain. An to lose at least 60 more pounds and all my problems would go away. (i'm glad he thinks it's that easy Everytime I urinate the pain gets worse. I've had a gazillion urinalysis a couple times it showed a little wbc's but they said nothing to be concerened about. It feels like someone is scraping the inside of me with glass. I am kind of at my wits end it's horrible to be in pain all the time and I just want to know what is wrong with me anyone else ever experienced this?
Have you ever had a cytoscopy(laparoscopic veiw of your bladder and ureters)? Maybe you have diveticulum in your bladder. I don't see how loosing weight would help with your pain, I can see where it would help manage your PCOS but pain? NO. I would try another opinion from a new doc and see what they say. If your ovaries are enlarged maybe they need to put you on bc and see if that shrinks the cysts or do a biopsy on your ovaries to see if there is something in them. I hth and I rally wish I could give you more advice!

When I had the lap the PA said the ob would check all that out. I don't know if he did or not. I go back tomorrow for my 6 week post op and I am going to be sure and ask. I had been on ortho tri cyclen lo but the last pack I bled throughout the whole pack except for the 1st 3 days at first I figured it was from the Lap but it would not stop & the PA said it was normal but when I finished the pack litterly the next day the bleeding stopped. I am just so aggravated with my body.
Well it all started with going to a PA and I kept having pain and she didn't know what to do with me so she sent me to the OB dept. So I guess he was my 2nd opinion..lol I don't have insurance and this clinic has sliding scale. He's the only ob within maybe a 20 mile radius. I live in the middle of nowhere..lol
Welcome sista!!!......My ovaries are 3 times there normal size also...I have pain on one ovary and I know that is it because the pain is just there..I am worred about a cyst or something, I have no insurance, I can't go to the doctor because I can't afford it...I may not have what you are going through but I know somewhat....I hope it gets better for you.

Libby google free clinics in Kentucky and there should be a huge list that you could choose from, one of them has to have a doc that is good there and is willing to do more than who you're seeing right now and want to help. We have a program at the hospital I work at that is for non insured patients, it's called project access. We do all types of surgeries for free and take care of these same problems. MAybe you have something like this in your area?

Thanks Aphrodity thats kind of what this clinic is they go by your income and that is how much you pay. Your hospitals program sounds great we do need something like that around here.
Thank you Disney. I love your icon eeyore is so cute.
I went yesterday & she said the bladder might just be inflamed where my ovaries are swollen. They did a tv ultrasound to measure the lining and the tech said it looked like i'd had a pretty good sized cyst so I guess that accounts for the pain being worse in the last little bit. Lining was good though. She put me on Loestrin 24. Hopefully it will do it's job and I wont spot.
I haven't had problems with swollen ovaries for years, but my treatment was tylenol for the pain and swelling and a low dose progesterone BCP. This is over 20 years ago, so now I would think naproxen would be a better choice then tylenol.

So it's kind of close to the same treatment I remember having. If the 600 mg of Motrin doesn't help with the pain, then it's safe to up it to 800 mg. That is what I was using for daytime pain management 3 days after my hyst, and it really helped. I did this 3 weeks straight whether I needed it for pain or not.
