Default Frustration with Provera

This is my second time taking Provera, I have been on BCP's since I was diagnosed 11 years ago.. and they gave me provera to induce AF before started the pill. So now my question, I just recently finished taking the 10 day supply of provera on Tuesday and still have not gotten AF. I left a message for the RE to call me back, but was wondering if anyone had this happen and what was the reasons?

Be patient. I was in the same boat last month. Previously, I had received AF two or three days after finishing Provera. However, this last dose took nine days for AF to show up. I have even heard of it taking as long as fourteen days. Good luck!

Thanks ladies.... i thought it was the type of thing that happened immediately, I feel much better now. The RE did call me back and tell me it can take up to 2 weeks after you stop taking it to come on... so I will wait.

Thanks again for your help....

I just wanted to add that it can take up to two weeks. However, for people like me, it put my body into menopause. Not sure how, or why, but the doctors said enough of that and stopped trying to start my periods.

Unhappy

I'm a little worried. I just finished my provera which I was on for 5 days at 20mg per day. I have been bleeding pretty heavily since before I was put on provera. In fact, I have been bleeding pretty heavily for the past few weeks. The doc put me on provera to straighten it out. According to the doc, it is normal that I am bleeding pretty heavily, but I am supposed to call him in the next 5-7 days if it hasnt' slowed up at all. Has anyone else had this problem with excessive bleeding? If so, I would appreciate some advice. Thank you and good luck to everyone who is trying to conceive!
