I've been to one gyno here that my MD sent me to. When he diagnosed me with PCOS...his recommendation was "lose weight". Does ANYONE know of a good Dr in Ft. Worth/Dallas area. I am thinking anything would help-either an endocrinologist, gyno, or ANY dr. that has any knowledge of PCOS.
Oh how I wish I was still in Texas, if only for my family Dr. Her name is Dr. Joyce Stroud. She is in Southlake. She is knowledgable about pcos, in fact she is the one that finally diagnosed and put me on glucophage. The RE that I went to (Doody) didn't seem to think I had it, but after Dr. Stroud put me on glucophage we proceeded with another IVF cycle and egg quality was much better and we now have a 2 1/2yr old boy. I live in the West Ft Worth area! I go to Plano to see a Endo who help me through IVF. It failed but I think it was my bad timing. Anywhoo his name is Dr Brian Barnett. He never once mention my weight. I had been to 2 doctors and they just told me to lose weight. I found him on this site through recommend a doctor.

if your wanting help getting pg, i went to a Reproductive endo. in plano james douglas. he NEVER said one word about my weight. after 2 years ttc with a regular OB, i started seeing this dr. i had to drive 2 1/2 there, but after 3 months im pg with my 1st
I go to Dr Farmer in euless, he's wonderfull. I love the staff and he promised me that he would get me pregnant. He has had some patients who have never had a cycle and they got pregnant. Very well knowledgeable on PCOS

I found the BEST endocrinologist. He listened to every word I had to say and gave me Metformin FINALLY! His name is Dr. Lackan and he is off of Bryant Irving on oakbend trail. He was very understanding and his office is in the baylor med. center in a very official looking building. He is also kinda handsome

I went to Dr. Cole on Bryant Irvin Rd. and he prescribed Metformin for me. He is a very good Dr. He listens and is also very nice looking.
I also go to an Endo Dr. at Harris Hospital on Pennsylvania. His name is Dr. Deleon. I hope this helps you.

I go to see Dr. Laura Bradford. She's awesome. She's knowledgeable about PCOS. Is located in the hospital district in Fort Worth. She's also very caring and sensitive, which is something most Ob/Gyn's lack. She helped me through a pg and subsequent miscarriage and then an additional pg attempt, which ended in a beautiful baby girl. She's awesome (oh did I say that already).

Dr Ellen Wilson at University of Texas @ Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. She is a reproductive endocrinologist. She's quiet, thoughtful, and very knowledgeable of pcos. She's just a nice lady.

I found Dr. Quist after 3 ob/gyns she actaully diagnosed the problem instead of saying you need lap band surgery to lose weight. She is off of 8th avenue in Fort Worth

I just wanted to let everyone know that I went to my appointment with Dr Farmer. It was the best thing I could have done. He sat and talked with me for quite a while and his answer wasn't "lose weight!"
He prescribed Metformin XR for me and I have been taking it since last Wed. I have been also been eating low carb. I have lost 5.5lbs in just that short amount of time. I am so happy and finally feel like I have found someone that cares.
