Hey cysters! I was looking for good detox programs, but was having a hard time. Most want you to buy $300 worth of powders or pills. What about do it yourself detox, like with water and vitamins? I was wondering if any of you did detox, and if so, which ones and have they helped. TIA!

Well, I am getting a whole body cleanse from my local health food store. It costs $28 dollars and takes 2 weeks to complete. I would say try that route. Go to a health food place and see what they have.

i've taken the nature's secret ultimate cleanse and liked it. it was gentle (watch out for any cleanse with too much cascara sagrada or senna as those are laxatives) and i felt, worked well. you don't have to totally change your diet, although it's probably a good idea to be kind to your while doing a cleanse so it doen'st have to work harder. it tried one by garden of life, too, but it was so complicated and had a nasty "drink" that i never finished it...if yo'ure more patient and organized than i am, it might be a good try?
$300?? good grief...they'd better clean my house, too, for that price! =)
Not sure if you've already done your detox yet or not, but I used Dr. Schulze's detox herbal formulas (herbdoc.com). I've used the kidney, liver, and bowel. They are each 5 days. You'd start with the bowel then do either of the others. They would always give me a stronger ovulation after the detox as well as getting rid of a multitude of symptoms. He says on his website that he never had one person who couldn't get pregnant and give birth if they followed his programs. I have a huge family history of miscarriages (my mom had 2 and between my aunts, there were probably about 10 more) and wanted to try to prevent that if I was able to get pregnant. I a hard time believing it until I tried it and the female formula and some other natural stuff and got pg with ds, who's almost 4 now.

I did a candida cleanse, and after 4 months, I got my BFP with DS#2.
After he weaned from BFing, I did a heavy metal detox; I actually went to Mexico, and got all my mercury (poison) fillings removed, and then I did a heavy metal chelation (detox) with an herbal/vitamin formula from Extreme Health. I also continued to take candida control supplements during the heavy metal detox, plus I used the Ultimate zapper to also help kill candida (since candida overgrows during heavy metal detox).
After 6 months of heavy metal detox, I stopped, and just did candida control, and started TTC, and got my BFP with DS#3 in that first TTC cycle. He's 17 months old now.
I am doing candida cleanse right now, and I am TTC#4. I am still BFing #3, so I can only take things that are safe to take while BFing.
I noticed that you were Dx'd with Crohn's; Ken Presner, who makes the Ultimate Zapper, almost died from crohns in 1984. Then he got his mercury fillings removed, and did heavy metal chelation, and used the zapper to cleanse himself of pathogens, and he doesn't have Crohns any more.

Thanks for the great info! I will definitely look into those I was going to do the raw fruit/veggies with water detox...you know, 2 days of whole fruits/veggies and water, 3 days of just water, 2 days back on the fruits and veggies. Ease your way into and out of a detox sort of thing. While also taking certain herbs the whole time.
