I showed my doctor that I can basically milk myself - I don't produce much, but it's something. He's testing my prolactin levels. I don't know if it affects fertility, I just wanted you to know you're not alone! My breasts feel full and heavy and my nipples get so sensetive sometimes that they will be hard for days straight, and it hurts. :-(

Best of luck, I hope you're able to concieve soon!

It depends on what you mean by affecting your fertility. Having a high prolactin level can keep you from ovulating, but won't damage your fertility in the long run or anything like that. If you do have a high prolactin level, your doctor will probably prescribe dostinex, which is a medication that will reduce your prolactin level. If your prolactin level is keeping you from ovulating, getting it back to a normal range should restore ovulation. But the levels being high by themselves doesn't have a detrimental effect on your fertility. If you have more questions, please ask... I have high prolactin levels.

Feel free to ask me about hyperprolactinemia though, just had my prolactinoma removed through brain surgery. Happier and healthier already...
