I do not think this is related to PCOS by any means. However, I’m wondering if anyone suffers from this problem…
I have a horrible gag reflux. I’ve had this for years. I especially gag in the mornings if there is drainage in my throat. However, during the past 8 months, I’ve lost complete control of my gag reflux. Now I vomit almost every time I gag. I vomit on average 4-5 days a week. I’m terrified that I will burn a hole in my esophagus and that my teeth enamel will wear off.
I feel horrible every time I throw up. It is painful and disgusting. I cry every time I do it. In the last month, I’ve begun having to throw up throughout the day. I am definitely not pregnant. I’m terrified of this gagging and vomiting. HELP!!
I moved out of state and do not have a family doctor currently.

It sounds sinnus related...or maybe something to do with your tonsils...

I'm sorry that you are having this issue though I can't imagine what that must be like long term and to that degree. I had it short term before my tonsils were taken out...they were huge and may me throw up a few times.

i cant even go to the denist without gagging.... they stick their fingers in my mouth and i gag.... but you sound like you need to talk to a gastro (something ) doctor.... maybe they could help

Diagnosis's: Asthma Insulin Resistance

Medicines: Proventil HFA (1 puff every four hours as neeed for shortness of breath), Advair (250/50 2 times a day), Metformin (1 500mg pill daily)

yep, I'd go see a gastroenterologist. He will probably do a scope to see if there's something wrong in your throat or stomach.

I think it might be related to PCOS because I have this problem too and it went away once I lost some weight. Now that I've gained a bit back, it's back.

I have a horrible gag reflex. I gag every time I go to the dentist. I gag when I go to the doctor and he puts a tongue depresser in my mouth. I gag when I take my pills in the morning. I have never had it so bad that I threw up multiple times a week. I would definately go to a doctor and have it checked out. Good luck!

sometimes your whacked out hormones can make you gag and vomit as if you are pregnant. I get this around my period when the hormone levels change.

I have a horrible gag reflex as well. I can even have gagging and vomiting by just thinking about something. I also have GERD. If I go off my meds for too long, I end up coughing non-stop right after eating and end up cleaning out the sink..if you know what I mean. I still have awful coughing fits, but in general weaker ones on meds. I never thought about it being my tonsils either. Interesting. My throat is so tiny. Any swelling causes problems for me. I just wanted to say...I totally hear you and wish you well on finding your solution.

MelonBerry, do you actually feel sick when you gag or is it something that seems to happen for no reason?
I went through a phase for a couple of years of constantly gagging. It ruined my life at the time. I never felt sick with it though, but I had a constant sensation of being strangled which in turn caused me to gag. Have you had this strangling sensation?

Wow, glad to hear I'm not the onlly one. Sometimes I feel like my body is going crazy. I've been struggling with this for months...every morning when I brush my teeth, certain smells, even just randomly I will get the urge to vomit. It's up high, like in my throat though, not my stomach that the sensation comes from. I've chalked it up to hormones, because my progestrone is high, but I am not pregnant. Just another wonderful side effect of PCOS, I guess.

I have never had that problem, my stomach is made of steel I swear..LoL....I think the last time I threw up has been over 10 years ago. I gag some but not bad enough todo anything...I hope you get everything fixed up though!

Savannah, I'm sorry you have this too. However, THANK YOU for sharing this information with me. It helps me so much to realize I'm not alone.
