Exclamation Gastritis and not tolerate MET, can Apple Cider Vinager help ?

Hey ladies

I have been on and off met for years. Sometimes I have been able to reach my dose ( 1,500 ) but lately I am having too many gastric problems because of it. Plus, it reduces my energy so much... when I am on Met I feel like I want to crawl to bed and sleep.

Recently I started trying the natural apple cider vinegar ( 2 tablespoons on water before breakfast ) and I can say it has helped lots with weight loss. But it is know that taking 2 tablespoons of apple vinegar before meals works as well as the met without the nasty side effects...

Last night I really had a terrible night due to the gastritis caused by Met, I had diahrrea combined with nausea and this burning sensation. I am really discouraged on the met, but my doctor really wants me on it. I am torn between taking it or not...

How can I know if the vinegar really works as the met ? is there any reliable data to prove it ? or should I continue in pain on met ?

Any feedback ?

Monita - Is there any way you can get a blood glucose monitor? Your location says south of the border, but perhaps you can order one from the internet if they are not locally available? You can use a BG monitor to see if the ACV lowers your blood sugar to a tolerable level (fasting below 100, 1 hr post meals around 140 or so). I've never tried ACV, but I use Met and cinnamon and both have the same effect on my blood sugar levels (about a 8-10 mg/dl drop). Good luck with it! Dianna
