Question GD... Wanted to ask a couple questions.. PG mentioned!

I don't have type 2 (yet I got GD diagnosed @ 7 weeks so my Dr. think this won't go away), but I hoped you guys more experienced with Diabetes could answer a question for me...

I have been waking up hungry in the night... I don't eat but I notice when I get up for the day I'm hungry way earlier than I used to be... Is this a BGL thing, where it's high or is it just the baby making me need more food? I've never been a breakfast eater but lately I cant go past 9-9:30 w/o food! Do yall think is my BGL or ???

Thanks,
Jill

Hi. I am a type II diabetic, so this might be different. Normally I do not get hungry in the middle of the night and I can skip breakfast if I am in a hurry, but it isn't good for my blood sugar.

However, in both my pregnancies I would wake up starving in the middle of the night and if I skipped breakfast I would get nauseated. I was much hungrier. I am inclined to think it is due to your growing nutritional needs because of the baby.

Thanks for the reply! I'm thinking it's this growing kiddo too... My levels are good again & I'm still hungry more often... I'm eating breakfast earlier & earlier!

Your children are beautiful!

Thank you. I think so too. I remember breakfast being my favorite meal of the day when I was pregnant with my first. I would have eggwhite omelette with green onions, cheddar and tomatoes, one piece of toast and a lite sausage patty and it was sooooo good.

Have a happy and healthy pregnancy!
