Hi Rach! My pharmacy switched me over to generic Zoloft as soon as it become available, as the crappy thing is that now that it's available in a generic, my insurance refuses to cover namebrand. So, when I was on it, I could either take the generic with a $0 co-pay, or I could cough up the full retail price of the namebrand. I opted for the generic, especially after I once insisted that I get namebrand Ambien instead of a generic, and I was charged the full price of $150--ouch. Can't afford that every month.
To be honest with you, I do remember feeling slightly different when I was switched to the generic. I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but perhaps it was a touch of withdrawal. I just went through full-blown Zoloft withdrawal about a month ago, and it wasn't THAT bad, but I did feel...different.
I guess I just adjusted to it within a few short weeks.
They claim that generics have the same active ingredients as name-brands, but who knows? I'm sure that there's a reason that some doctors will prescribe "dispense as prescribed" and still go with namebrands on certain meds...
