Default getting diagnosed

Just got back from having RAIU (scan was yesterday). I thought I was being checked for hyperthyroidism, but turns out it's hypo. The tech told me that my thyroid is basically not functioning at all. She kept repeating questions about things that could interfere with the test. I'm quietly freaking out over this. I'm gonna go nuts waiting for the official diagnosis from the doc.

So I'm grasping at straws with my questions: Is there any chance that this will "get better"? Do you guys know of anyone who has? (I had my first child 8 months ago - could this be the postpartum throidism?)
