Since I have been going to the Dr. over the last 1 1/2 I have accumulated a lot of unpaid bills, (I have been paying on them monthly) that my insurance will not pay- they keep saying all my treatment is for infertility and it isn't covered. Are there any suggestions for having the ins. co actually pay for the PCOS treament? is there something my Dr. office can do? I tried to talk to the person who does their billing, but she wasn't helpful. Any ideas would be great! Thanks!
Was the treatment for infertility? Or was it for PCOS? If it is standard PCOS treatment, the office should not have billed it as infertility and the insurance should have covered it. However, if it was fertility related treatment there probably isn't much you can do.

I work for a insurance company. If the treatment was not related to infertility then maybe the office coded it incorrectly.. contact someone at your insurance company to appeal those bills.. but also check with the doctors office

Thank you, I contacted them awhile ago about bills from Jan-June and I actually just received some info from my ins. co. and they have received more info from the dr and are going to pay on three of my claims so I am happy for that. I just got the letters in the mail yesterday..they just weren't very quick to respond...Treatment was for both pcos & fertility so I guess it got confusing. Happy thanksgiving to me, I owe them less....and Happy Thanksgiving to you both! Thanks again!
I'm just kind of wondering why my ins. is making me pay $60 for yasmin when my dr. called in the brand for me and said the generic is not as potenent as the brand any clues??
they always say that generic is NOT the same as brand name. one pill may have more ingredient and the next pill for the next day may not have enough. but that's with all generic drugs from what i was told. it's really up to you wanting to stay with brand name or generic. you could always tell you pharmacist to fill all prescriptions generic if callled in by brand name, most pharmacies will do that w/o you having to ask though.
