Question Getting Normal

So, I finally had my first period on metformin. It was only 4 days which was shocking I was expecting it to be least a week. but hey Im happy with 4 days just fine! My tummy is just hard its bothering me.Its like being really full and your bout to bust open. Sometimes its hard to breathe. I dont know what it is..just weird.I guess my body is just getting normal. I doubt I lost much weight though. Ive been very very tired and havent been really exercising. I need to start. Did any of you ever lose a lot of weight at the begining of your first few months??

Welcome cyster!

I'm so glad for you that you got your period! I found that met helped me a lot. I did lose quite a bit of weight on met.

I'm not sure about your stomach... I was thinking if you just started met it could be bloating, sometimes you'll have that with the diarrhea. Have you had an exam recently? The cysts can make you bloat like that too. I'm sure other cysters will have some other thoughts about this, that was just what I was thinking while I was reading your post.

Good luck with the met cyster
Hugs
Jenny

My bloating/diarrhea pretty much went away after a few days of met. I still get bloated before AF.

How are you feeling today? Better I hope!

Hugs
Jenny

I would suggest you take PMS formula during your AF to reduce bloating. I have been on Met for about a year and I still get symptoms from it especially when I eat certain foods. A daily fiber suppliment could help also.

I've never head of met causing constipation but that may be the case also. You mentioned you haven't dealt with diarhea (sp) so maybe it had opposite effects and is making you bloated and uncofrtable? Anyway just a thought....However all that aside my met side effects disapperad after 2 weeks and you said you've been on it for a few months. Maybe worth checking out.

CONGRATS ON THE PERIOD THO that is awesome!!!!!!!!
