Hello, Cysters. I just wanted to let all of you out there who are trying alternative methods know - don't give up! They work more slowly than drugs, but they are healing you, so will work better in the long run. It can be frustrating and make you want to give up (it did me), but don't! I just got my period (without any drugs, no pill, just natural methods) this week. I recommend making sure you talk to an herbalist or CNHP who knows what they are doing and not just walk into a GNC or something. But they do work. Just be patient!

Yaaaay!

What is your natural healing routine, if I may ask?

I alternate between about 4 different products for female problems and hormone balance made by Nature's Sunshine. They are FCS II, Female Comfort, NF-X, and Pro-G-Yam cream. I also take products that are made to support the adrenal gland, one called Nervous Fatigue Formula, and another called Nature's Cortisol Formula. Another one I just recently added was Licorice Root, which I really found helped me with my appitite, it helped curb my desire for sugar. I also take a product called Yeast/Fungal detox along with a probiotic (Probiotic Eleven or Bifadofilous Flora Force) to help get rid of and control yeast. I also take products to help control ear infections (I tend to get them a lot).

I also take a multivitamin and extra B6.
If you want any information on any of these products, look at
www.mynsp.com/naherbs

I also do other things, such as energy correction work that works with the same idea as accupuncture, and other natural therapies.

This is especially nice to hear, as I'm planning on adding licorice to my repertoire soon, along with cinnamon (also for sugar cravings).

Thanks for the info

Yes, I have heard Cinnamon is very good too. Try to look for an "extract" rather than... I'm not sure what else it would be, maybe the whole stick or bark or something. You don't have to take nearly as much if you just get an extract.

My mom has an herb shop, that's how I know about that. When you find out how much to take, it is usually based on the bark, but if you get the extract, keep in mind you won't need nearly as much because it is much more potent.

May I ask why you prefer Nature's Sunshine products? What makes them superior in your view?

They are the oldest and biggest herb company in the US. I know that in itself isn't enough, but it is something. Their quality is the industry standard - when the FDA or the government is trying to critisize herbs, Nature's Sunshine is the company they examine. They reject more product because it is contaminated or unpure than any other herb company - in fact, some manufacturers will tell them where to ship product they reject because another company will take it and use it.

Other companies have good quality, too, but few are as good and consistent as Nature's Sunshine. The problem with herbs is that if there are fillers or impurities in them, they either won't work, or even worse, they can have negative effects (usually if someone is allergic to a filler or impurity). Nature's Sunshine guarantees that their products are 100% pure and ONLY what is on the label is in the bottle - no more, no less. If you were to have a lab ananlyze them and find anything extra or less, they would refund your money, and probably reformulate that product to make sure it didn't happen again (they have done so before). They won't make a product if it isn't good enough. We haven't been able to get Hoodia from them for months because the supply isn't good quality, so they reject it (although you can get it from other makers).

Here's a link for Nature's Sunshine's website section about their quality control: http://www.naturessunshine.com/produ...lity/index.asp

Just FYI, I don't think Nature's Sunshine is the ONLY good company, there are others that are very good, too, such as Enzymatic Therapy, but I would NEVER buy a Wal-Mart, Wal-Greens, Centrum, Flintstones, or any other brand that can be bought at a grocery store. Who do you ask if you have questions? How do you know you are getting enough of anything? What if it isn't the right product for you? When it comes to health, cheap isn't good enough. That's why I always suggest people talk to an herbalist or a Certified Natural Healthcare Professional. Nutritionists are good, too, but don't always know about supplements.

Thank you very much for all of that information!

Nature's Sunshine sounds great. How are they with pesticides and such? I don't suppose they're organic?

They test their products to make certain that there are no pesticides or any other contaminents, and if there are, the product is rejected. They test EVERY SINGLE batch (most companys only test random batches) to make sure they are pure.

As far as being organic, they are certified organic by European standards (which are much more strict than the US). I don't know why they aren't certified in the US, but maybe it is because they don't think it matters since they are certified in Europe. I have heard that being certified organic is sort of a crock anyway, because the standards aren't high enough.

Sounds good.

I've been browsing around the site, and what I see, I like.

Would you like to give me your referral number so that I can give you credit when I place an order?

Thank you, Mallory! My number is 1683630-4, my name is Sarah Dick and I live in South Elgin. I don't know how much of that information you need, but it will ask for "sponsor" information, and that is it.

Thanks again! I hope you got this soon enough. I tried it earlier, but there was something wrong with the site and it kind of "crashed" on me!

Thanks! I just jotted down the info., and I'll definitely use it when I place an order with them this weekend. I've had some time to poke around the site and decide what I want, and I think by this weekend I'll be ready to place my first order. :o)

I'll let you know how it went afterwards

Thanks again for all of your help and information. It's precious beyond words.
