I'm sorry you're in pain. That's always really hard.

I find heat most effective against cramps. Sadly while at school you can't take a hot bath or use an electric heating pad, but maybe one of those Thermacare patches on your stomach would help a little? I've never tried them, but they sound like maybe they'd be better than nothing.

I hope you feel better soon!

I have tried the therma care patches before and they help to an extent, but deff. something to try. I would just take a few of them b/c they only last a couple hours. Also, have you tried birth control? I'm on yasmin now, I used to only get my period 2x a year and when I did I had to sit on the toilet practically the whole week, I went through 3 boxes of super plus tampons a DAY. and the cramps, I was in tears all week. But I have been on yasmin for 2 months now, and just finished my 2nd period. I'm still not back on full track again, the first one I still had cramps but not nearly as bad and this time, no cramps whatsoever. My back hurt a little but nothing in my stomach. I think you need to talk to your dr. about it and see what they can offer b/c you don't want this to jeopardize your education!! good luck!

They're sold in drugstores. Not sure if they're available where you live, but Nurofen heat patches appear to be the same idea. The two brands do seem to have different ingredients to produce the heat, so maybe one of them works better than the other, I don't know. See what your local pharmacy carries.

Hope it helps some!

Also, you may want to try advil or motrin...That seems to work also. My daughter gets cramps real real real bad too. She is usually sick for a couple of days monthly...But if she starts taking motrin a day before she starts, it keeps the cramps down to where it is tolerable. I hope you feel better soon.

When I was a teenager, I'd get cramps so bad I was taking up to 9 Advil at a crack to try and stay on top of the pain and I had to take them as soon as I felt even a twinge, if i waited too long it was too late. Eventually, I got on a prescription drug that helped tremendously. I don't remember what it was called, but I'm wondering if a visit to a doctor would help you come up with something.

I'm very sorry to hear what you are going through. I remember those days well and to be stuck in school where you have so little control over where and when you can go somewhere to get some relief-ugh. Hang in there sweetie. I'm not up on meds and I'm very new to this PCOS business, but I don't want you to give up hope!! See a doctor about this!

Thanks for advice.Ive been to my doctor who gave co-dene and co-dydramol.Unfortuanly im so used to pain killers now that there effect on me is barely anything. It sounds stupid but at times i wish i could brake my arm or have a head ache just to get a new sort of pain to concentrate on and not my tummy..

This won't help your pain, but have you ever had your doctor write you a note for the school so you could freely take bathroom breaks when needed? I mean it doesn't have to be to use the toilet even, just to get away from the stress for a few minutes (but your teachers don't have to know that!).

I remember being your age and having horrible cramps Days 1-2. I used to take huge amounts of naproxen (aleve) when it was a prescription here, I don't know how I tolerated so much of it. And even that wouldn't dull the pain completely.

Hang in there and don't be shy about taking a day off school if you feel like you are going to rip into other people. Sometimes bed is the safest place to be, for you and them! I have those days from time to time. Good luck with the doctor visit, may they find the best way to stop your pain!

Honey I fought PCOS all through high school and now into college. I found that those therma care patches work just be careful about them being to hot. I also recommed tylenol and stuff. Try not to loose your temper eventhough sometimes it may be hard not to. Hang in there it will all be okay!!!
