Hello Ladies!!

Week 2: down another 2 pounds = 5 total

I got my bike and it is SO much fun!! My DH and I go for a ride at least once a night!! It is true, you never forget how to ride a bike. It is great exercise, my whole body is a little achy but I know that means I am doing something good!!

I hope that everyone is well and working hard!! Best of luck!

Carrie - I hope your surgery goes well and you recover quickly.

Hey ladies, How everyone doing? So I've finally finished reading the book. I officially start the diet on monday. I'm making a grocery list to go food shopping tomorrow. I have a question for all you ladies. How do u guys prepare your beans? I'm puerto rican and the only way I've ever known how to make beans is mixing them with tomato sauce and what not. So now I really dont know how I would prepare them. Oh and why do cheerios have a high GI rating or wateva you call it. Hope everyone is doing well

Hello All!

I'm at home recovering. They had to remove my ovary, which is okay I suppose because I still have my other one. It wasn't endo, thank goodness. It was a dermoid cyst 3 times the size of my uterus! Huge...the doctor said its been growing for a long time. There is also a chance I have one inside my other ovary, because it is inlarged. He didn't want to cut it open because if it was okay then it would leave behind unnecessary scar tissue. So I need to go back frequently for ultrasounds to make sure it isn't getting any bigger. Thankfully, he was able to save my fallopian tube.

I've been feeling really and am having lots of problems. But my incisions are feeling a little bit better today and I'm able to walk around. My DH has been amazing the last few days helping me do just about everything. I him so much.

Thanks to everyone for the and whatnot. You girls are great! Before I went in I weighed myself and I have not gained ANY of the weight back since I've not been strictly following the low GI. I am totally being more cautious about my choices so I think that is why. And then I weighed myself yesterday and I was down another 1.5 pounds....lol because that is what the darn tumor weighed. Oh, and yeah they are checking to make sure it isn't cancerous...but they said it most likely isn't.

bushwicks_nena_19--I don't like beans so I can't help you with ways of cooking them, sorry. The best advice I have for you is to make sure you clear out your cupboards of everything you can't have so you will be less tempted, I know it helped me a ton.

MusicLdi--congrats on your loss!!!!!

Hi Guys,
Just started GI today, I am doing it through an online diet group which give you all the food plans etc.
I really hope that it will work, as i am really starting to notice how hard it is to lose weight as i get older, plus my PCOS seems to be getting worse.
You guys all seemed to have done so well, hopefully i will be able to post some success later this week

2 cans of mixed beans
8 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp cider vinegar
1 tsp basil
salt & pepper to taste

Mix all of that up and chill. It's REALLY yummy. I just found that recipe this weekend.

Just popping in to let you all know that I jumped right in and started the diet. I'm making good choices but not super strict at this point. This is something that can really work because I don't feel deprived at all! Granted I had an ice cream sundae on Saturday ... but I had a TERRIBLE day.

Sundae or not I've still lost 4lbs since last Thursday. Imagine what can happen when I'm strict about what I eat and I start to exercise!! (No real time for exercise now with trying to get a presentation and 10page research paper done, 9 hours of class per week, 12 hours of work, and taking care of a 14 month old)

I had the GI list in hand but did nothing with it, my mind wasn't ready to follow my body. Since then I've been working on getting my mind right and I'm ready to renovate my body to start making some babies, does anyone have the complete list?

Hi ladies - I have been MIA... but I am back. DH and I had a lapse in our low GI efforts. AND I gained back 2 lbs.

I went shopping yesterday and loaded up on fresh fruits and veggies and lean meats so we are back on track now.

I would like to drop my new 2 lbs before my appointment with the RE on Monday... but I realize that may be totally unrealistic. Who knows!

I am also retaining water like it is my job. Seriously, my feet look like they are about to burst out of my skin. Weird!!!!
