Points: 556.89 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 556.89 | Hello!! I found a great snack I wanted to share with everyone.
In the Living the GI diet book by Gallop there is a great recipe for Over the Top Bran Muffins with Pears. There are great and easy to prepare. I froze mine to have some for future use.
Week 3: down another pound - Total loss: 6 pounds
I was able to take a bike ride over a mile this weekend. I never thought I could go that far, let alone make it home. Anything is possible with support.
Take care!

My Mood: Points: 366.96 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 366.96 | Hi all, new to the board. I wanted to respond to Carrie, I had an ovary and tube removed when I was 18 because of a cyst and then dealt with years of mis-diagnosis of PCOS until just a few months ago. Other than the PCOS symptoms I do not feel any different with one ovary. All my Dr ever said about it was you only need one ovary to concieve. One drawback is the stress of thinking about getting another cyst on the ovary you have left. I was a psycho about having ultrasounds done to monitor progress. I have calmed down over the years and only get one a year. Overall it has not been a difficult experience.

My Mood: Points: 4,559.06 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 4,559.06 | I'm finally back from my extended visit with my parents in Texas, so I'm just starting the GI plan in earnest. I'm so happy to be able to have more control over what I eat. This past week is my first on the eating plan.
I managed to maintain my weight while I was on my visit, so I count this as a major victory, especially since I was gone for six weeks. At the end I started to do a yoga practice three times a week and I think that's going to help me stick with the eating plan too.
Tiffany, good for you for getting back on the plan. And 2 lbs. isn't that big of a deal. YOu'll lose it a lot faster than you think.
Hope all is well with all of you. Keep posting. I find it so motivating!

My Mood: Points: 3,336.02 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 3,336.02 | Hey ladies....I know I've been MIA for a while. I was having internet troubles but they're all fixed and I'm back. Well for an update I lost 12lbs in my first week. Im so proud of myself. The df lost about 7 so I'm proud of him too. Everythings going great. Also I know this is off topic but df and I have been ttc for about 9 months now and I went in on the 13th for a p4 and got my levels back on 6/19 it was a 21 which clearly means I O'ed that pretty much made my day. and af showed up on 6/18 so it just gave me so much hope. and I had to share it with someone. and what better place to share it than here with ppl who understand. Anyways let me get back on topic. What exactly are new potatoes and how come I cant find them anywhere?
Misty: Those beans were great. My df loved them.

It's good! When you eat cereal, do you eat a half a cup or a full cup? I've been doing the full cup because anything less just doesn't cut the mustard. I hope this isn't bad...

In fact it can be a HIGH carb diet. The GI diet focuses on the types of carbs that are low on the glycemic index, which means that they don't cause your blood-sugar to go really high, but gradually rise. Generally whole grains, vegetables, fruits, pasta, low-fat dairy, and legumes as the primary sources of carbs. |
