Thanks Lj. I was so shocked when I saw it. I was expecting about 5 or 6 but geez 12 I was ecstatic. and I feel great. I went wedding dress shopping today and it was so great like I feel so confident and sexy now its just so crazy. And instead of buying 1 wedding dress I got 2 and they werent like the type I thought I could wear because most of the weight I carry is in the tummy but wen the sales lady was like trust me and I tried the 1st one on I was like omg I look great and it was like one of those great moments. And to say the very least I am very very happy with the way this whole GI diet is going .

Annie - I usually do the whole cup of cereal. But sometimes I have toast with some jam and yogurt. thats pretty much it.

Hi girls!
I am new to this board and was referred to this thread by another member when asked a question about diet.
Sounds like many of you have had a great experience with this diet, I am going to get the book ASAP.
Do you have to count calories for this program?

Nope no counting anything for this program.

What kind of bread is everyone using? I'm assuming if it says 100% whole wheat then I'm good to go. I have yet to find anything that says "stone ground" on the package.

Hi there, I have been recommended the GL diet (variant of GI methinks) by a nutritionist friend of mine. I am on Weightwatchers but hate counting every little thing and I am not eating very healthy foods. I ate some WW crisps yesterday, they were so processed and had trouble even swallowing them! I don't seem to be make good choices, as long as it is in my points value I will eat it.

Have any of you tried weight watchers but prefer GI?

I am worried as WW is quite strict and makes me accountable. I am scared I will go off course too easily.

Please let me know your thoughts!

That's one of the downfalls of WW. They tell you that you can still have unhealthy foods. I try to cut that out of my diet completely. WW is good, however, for teaching portion sizes. You can eat healthy stuff but if you eat too much of it you can still get fat! In the end it all comes down to how many calories you consume, regardless of their food source.

Do you have WW Core plan where you are? I hear it's based on more natural foods, and low GI foods. So you'll still be accountable, but can't have the processed stuff.

Man, we're kinda settling in, but I don't know where my low GI book is! Arrrggghhh I saw a few at the library though, I'm gonna have to go grab them and get started.

I eat Alvarado Street Bakery's Soy Crunch bread. It's made out of sprouted wheat, so no flour involved.

That sounds good. When you eat bread, do you eat two slices at at time? Do you eat any other carbs (like cereal or anything) during the day if you eat bread?

Wish me luck ladies. I have my first laser appointment today on my neck. I had to shave my neck last night for the first time and let me tell you I cried the whole time!

Hi there--Can I join you all? I'm not following a specific plan, but I have been trying to make changes to replace the higher GI foods in my diet with lower GI foods. I can't say that I'm 100% there, but I'm making strides little by little.

I have the Low GI Revolution book and I really like it. There are some great recipes and it offers a wonderful explanation on the benefits of eating a low GI diet and has a comprehensive GI list in the back.

I also have the Gallup book, but I have to dig that one back up and read it again. I remember that I didn't like it as much, but maybe I'll like it more this time around.

Other than that, I just started Met less than a week ago. I'm hoping that the combination of the Met, Low GI, and exercise (I'm starting that up slowly too) will help with the weight loss.

Take care,
Shari
