My Mood: Points: 564.92 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 564.92 | I have a question about the gi diet. I am a real picky eater and I have bought the sugar solution cook book by prevention magazine. It had alot of food that I do not eat. What kind of food do you eat on the gi diet?
Thanks,
Jennifer |

I am down almost 8 lbs in 2 weeks Things are going pretty well.
I am using splenda as well.
I am eating chicken, ground turkey, lean beef, tuna, salad, oatmeal, yogurt, eggbeaters, cottage cheese, lots of fruits and veggies.
I bought a cookbook as well, but havent made anything from it.
As for the cravings, they are definitely there but I am finding ways to get around them. I have a stock pile of apples that I dig into, being able to have fruit is really helping.
Laura~ Congrats on hitting the 10+ lbs gone! Wooohooo!!!

When u eat oatmeal and tuna, stuff like that, what kind of mayo do u use for the tuna and what kind of butter do u use for the oatmeal? abd as for the cottage cheese, do u use low fat or just regular? lol I have a low gi called ' The New Glucose revolution', but some of it is a little confusing lol. Thanks and take care hun <3

My Mood: Points: 9,894.78 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 9,894.78 | I use fat free cottage cheese.
for my tuna I usually eat it plain on my salad. (I love the pouches of marinated tuna) but if I do mix in mayo, it's fat free.
And as for oatmeal...I don't put butter in it. I use yogurt or sugarfree fruit preservatives.
If you want butter or a butter taste...I recommend I can't believe it's not butter spray.

I have been sick but I am feeling much better today! Hubby went to the store last night to buy some shirts. He came back with some fresh produce and lean meats. How exciting!
I don't have a headache any more and I am getting energy back. I can't wait to report my first week's weight loss on Monday. I know that eventually the weight loss drops off and goes really slow, but this beginning is SO exciting!

My Mood: Points: 2,241.33 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 2,241.33 | Okay GI Diet girls I have a question
I have not currently started the GI diet yet, but I have read the book and I am trying to assemble everything so I can start tomorrow. I stocked up on yogurt. I was looking for yogurt without sugar, so I chose Yoplait light. But later after I was home and of course eating the yogurt I checked the sugar content on the back and it said it contains 14g of sugar (yoplait light strawberry orange sunrise was the flavor) Isn't that too many sugars to be low glycemic? How do you determine the GI of a particular food if its not listed in your book? Do you just go by the amount of sugars on the label? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

My Mood: Points: 9,894.78 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 9,894.78 | I use Dannon Light and Fit...i 'think' it has 8grams of sugar. But it doesn't have any sugar added.
That was really important to me, I looked for the yogurt with the least amount of sugar...and that didn't have any sugar added.

My Mood: Points: 2,241.33 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 2,241.33 | THis is what the label says "with aspartame and other sweetener"
but while I was looking at the ingredient list it does have high fructose corn syrup. Doesn't sound very low GI to me. Anyway I did also buy Dannon light & fit strawberry yogurt. Their vanilla is yummy too. The carb/sugar content is alot better with their brand as well. Ok so now I know! thanks!
