My issue - I don't eat yogurt (gross), eggs (never liked them), oatmeal (YUCK!), and I'm allergic to seafood (yes, even tuna). Any suggestions for me? Thanks in advance...

You can get your calcium with skim milk and fat free or low fat cheese. You can even enjoy low-fat, no sugar added icecream (I got some fudgcicle bars and they are delish!) Instead of oatmeal, you can have All-Bran or Kashi Go Lean with the skim milk and some sliced fresh berries.
As far as protien goes you can eat skinless chicken breast and thighs, lean cuts of beef, turkey breast, canadian bacon even!
I am still learning, but I think that there is a lot to choose from and the more familiar you get with the diet, the easier it is to follow.

Tiffany: Love the new pic! Glad to hear you are past the haeadache, that took me a few days.
Leah: Welcome! Tiffany gave some great ideas. Can you eat cottage cheese? That does a good job of filling me up.

My naturopath took me completely off sugar and she recommended Agave syrup because it isn't refined. I don't know what the glycemic load is on that. I'm also using Stevia which doesn't have a glycemic load. There's a brand that comes as differently flavored liquids (coffee, chocolate, vanilla, lemon). http://www.amazon.com/Sweetleaf-Stev...1429927&sr=8-2
You might try that. Some people say that get an aftertaste with stevia, so you might want to check if you can return it if you don't like it.

My Mood: Points: 4,559.06 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 4,559.06 | Not sure if you're up for this hollyree, but you could make your own. Super simple: Bring desired amount of milk to 180 degrees. Let cool to 108-112 degrees. Add yogurt culture (1 cup of yogurt with active cultures OR yogurt starter). Incubate (various methods) for desired amount of time (up to, but probably not as long as, 24 hours).
I've been making my yogurt for a couple of years now and will never go back. It takes a little time to get used to it, as it's more liquid than commericially produced yogurt, but at least you know exactly what's in it. My vanilla soymilk has 10g of sugar. Would probably be less if I used regular.

What is yogurt starter?
I think it's funny you add 1 cup of yogurt to your hot milk to make MORE yogurt. That just strikes me as weird.
I might just try it.

Welcome! In addition to the other suggestions, you can eat lots and lots of fruits and veggies. Yum!
I also eat the Dannon Light and Fit Yogurt. I found it today at Sam's Club for those of you that are members. They had it in a pack of 24 in a multi-pack of strawberry, blueberry and peach.

My Mood: Points: 5,818.85 Bank: 14,779.89 Total Points: 20,598.74 | I have one diet drink a day, usually with dinner. It is NOT caffeine free. Now mostly that is because I had just loaded up on diet drinks at the grocery the week before I started the diet. I dont know if it is having any ill effects on me. When I run out of the drinks I have, I will try caffeine free and see if there is any change.

My Mood: Points: 4,963.48 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 4,963.48 | Hey JC - I am trying to eliminate caffine all together. That being said, I have had 2 Coke Zeros since I started and they have caffine. I think I am still kicking a$$ on the GI diet anyway. I think that if you are used to drinking caffine all day... my suggestion is try to cut back and see how you feel... then take it from there.
