Default Gift Ideas for 30 week loss??( gift is not the right word but all I could think of)

Ladies

I need your help...my SIL's sister went into pre-term labour on chrsitmas night. She was 30 weeks...They stopped the labour with meds, but upon doing an u/s found no heartbeat I really want to send her a card and a gift, something in memory for her son, Seth. (I know gift is not the right word)

I'm not sure what? I was thinking of a little guardian angel pin/brooch. Does this seem appropriate???

Any other ideas....?

Thank you ladies.....I know it cant be easy answering questions like this, when you have all been through so much..I am sorry for your losses..its breaks my heart reading your stories. (((HUGS)))

THat is just so sad...I'm so so sorry to hear that this happened to your SIL's sister.

She will greatly appreciate the card and the guardan angel/pin brooch. If you can't find anything like that, perhaps a bracelet or a Christmas ornament will do. HEre's a website that sells such items. http://www.labelledame.com/miscarriage-infant-loss.html

You are so sweet to think of this. I think the brooch, or any other memento of her son, would be very appreciated. I'd imagine there are a lot of people around her pretending nothing happened, thinking that bringing up the baby would hurt her. They don't realize that she's already thinking about him 24/7.

((hugs)),

Deb, I think it's wonderful that you want to reach out to her. I'm so very sorry to hear about your SIL's sister's loss. A guardian angel pin would be a wonderful gift I think. Or if you can find something, a necklace or something she could wear with Seth's birthstone on it, that would be nice too. It doesn't have to be anything expensive, just something special to let her know that you are thinking of her right now.

I'm praying for her and the whole family right now...I can't begin to imagine what she's going through right now.

God Bless you Deb, for reaching out to her.

That's so awesome that you want to get her something. I know a lot of people try to ignore angel babies. I think something like that would definitely make her feel better, or at least that someone cares about her and her angel baby.
I like the idea of an ornament or necklace.

I'll be praying for her and her husband and the rest of your family.

Deb~
I think it is a wonderful idea to let her know you're remembering and thinking of her and her angel. Most people will just kind of ignore the situation like nothing happened so when even one person takes the time it means so much...I think anything angellike is a great "gift." Most people (though not all) associate their passed away babies as "angels." I just lost my second baby at just shy of 30 weeks (stillborn caused by hydrops) and wouldn't you know I got a package in the mail a couple days ago from a girl I've been posting with on another website for about a year and a half with an angel teddy bear (stuffed), a worry angel in a little box, and a sympathy card. Would you believe she's from Australia??? My first sympathy card came from Australia, from a girl I've never met in person!!! It made me bawl my eyes out but I am glad to have it and will treasure it always. The littlest things truly mean so much to a bereaved parent...

When my sister lost her baby last year, I bought her a white gold heart pendant. It had a little heart inside of a larger one with a diamond in it. Her baby would of been born in April and diamond was its birth stone.

I wrote my sister a note and told her that to remember that her baby will always be a part of us and in our hearts. It was really special to her.

Good luck, I know its hard!

Thanks Deb,

I thought it was odd your relative's loss was almost the same GA, as was the fact that it was a stillbirth, like mine (even if the circumstances were different). Then when I saw you are from Australia, and I had just received my package from my friend there, it was way too strange...(considering I don't know any other people from there!) Anyhow, I just figured it's nice to have someone recognize the fact you are still grieving, even when you can laugh sometimes. Some people think once you appear "normal" again, you are back to normal. They don't realize you're just trying to hold it together so you don't go completely crazy. Just thought I'd offer some 'fresh' perspective...

And thank you for the prayers...I can most assuredly use all I can get right now...first to get through this rough patch of deepest grieving and then to try again (hopefully!). I'm still waiting on autopsy results to find out what caused the hydrops in the first place. As far as PCOS goes, it has nothing to do with it, this time (I don't think). It's one of those bad luck things that keep getting me...I'm hoping it's really just a fluke, though, with little chance of recurrence.

Deb,

You can find a Angel Pin At any Hallmark Stores, they carry many of them. Also you can check out a catholic church shop. If you want other items you can take a look at my store and Maybe you can find something for her there. Let me know if you have any questions...

My MIL gave me an angel pendant with DS initial on it, and that meant so much to me.

I did a google search and this looks like the kind she bought me, here is the link...
