Talking Glad to find you all!Help needed...

I'm glad to find that I'm not the only person from the Uk that suffers from PCOS, and even more glad to have found this site.I was diagnosed 5 years ago, but told there was nothing that could be done - other than continue to take Dianette if I didn't want a baby, or fertility treatment if I did. I took the pill for YEARS, but came off it when a nutritionist put my IBS down to it. Ibs much improved, but skin/hairiness etc going haywire again. Also will be ttc soon. Any ideas on what I should do now? Anyone tried Terri Jean's 12 week PCOS Plan? Any sympathetic doctors in the Midlands (mine was no help when trying to sort out IBS- in fact, there were tears!)

Hi Anne,

Welcome to our little family

The first thing I would suggest is to get your GP to refer you to an Endocrinolgist (preferably one that deals with PCOS or has a real interest in it). From my experience it can take at least 6 months from referral to actual appointment, so the sooner you get in there the better.

Someone gave me this website www.specialistinfo.com which was invaluable, you can check out local areas and the Endo's specialist fields, interests etc.

I hope you find someone that will take your concerns seriously.

Keep in touch!
