Glad to see other Pagans Hello I am an active practicing witch. I follow a mostly faerie wiccan path (Not like what it sounds, do some research) but I also pull from many other paths as well. I am an active member of my circle Full Moon Friends, and paricipate in rituals, spell work, sabbats, esbats, etc. I also read tarot and tea leaves.
I've been living with PCOS for a long time, but was diagnosed last year. The first thing I was put on was a birth control pill, even though my Dr. knew I was desperate to get pregnant. The medication made me overly emotional crying one moment, angry the next, singing at the top of my lungs in another second. It was to much for me and I stopped taking the meds. From then on I began to ignore my PCOS.
Since then my weight has gotten way out of control, and I my other symptoms have been getting harder and harder to ignore and/or hide.
As I'm sure you can imagine, ignoring a problem is not a good practice of a witch, and it has affected my spiritual life. To quote from the book BE A GODDESS by Francesca De Grandis (which I highly recommend)
" The hawaiians have a term Uhane Kahikolu me ke kino mea, that means "whole being" - the three souls plus the physical body. When we bring this whole, rich being harmoniously into our ritual an daily lives, everyting inside ourselves and our lives falls into place. We are also freed from political, religious, and personal tyranny. Because when Uhane Kahikolu me ke kino mea is harmoniously operative in our lives, we find the power, guidance, and authority within ourselves to live in happiness and freedom."
I am striving for the whole being and that is why I have decided to look my desease in the eyes and get rid of it once and for all. I'm hoping Soul Cysters can help.

Update: We're actively trying to conceive. I just had blood work done that confirmed I do have PCOS. My last Dr. said I just had the symptoms because I was over weight. When she retired my new Dr. decided to have the blood work done. |
