Hi ladies,
I just started Gluc today. My RE just got back my test results and she insisted that i start them as soon as possible. I am concerned that she asked if I ate breakfast before taking the tests. I had not since I was doing a fasting blood Glucose test at the same time. Why would she ask that?

Besides that i am alittle loopy and excited (my family cannot understand why and my DH is giving my wide berth lol). It seems that almost anything is possible.

Is anyone else starting Gluc today? Maybe we can have a Gluc Buddy group?

Congrats on the Gluc!

I am not sure I understand your question, but perhaps your doctor just wanted to MAKE SURE that you didn't eat before the test?

Welcome to the Met forum!

I think your Dr was indeed confirming that you had fasted. Perhaps the results were high enough he though they weren't fasting levels.

She asked because had you eaten breakfast, it would have had an impact on your test results.

If you did eat breakfast and your numbers came back above normal, they would take that into consideration when computing your results.

Same goes for if you had not eaten. If your number came back low or normal, they would know it was because you were fasting.

Thanks so much - I believe that the levels were so high that she though I had eaten.
I guess that I have to be more serious about eating low-carb without cheating.
