Default Gluco XR and going downhill

Wow-------my hopes were so high on Gluco XR and my results so far have been nothing.
No AF
Increased depression can barely get out of bed
Increased eating
Feel just awful about me
just ate a whole 1/2 gallon of ice cream

I know the eating does not help but I can not stand how I feel so I eat.

For the first few weeks you will feel really rundown. It took around 2-3 months before I got my energy back after starting gluc. xr. Keep taking it and just hang in there. You will soon start feeling the good effects from it.

I felt the same way when I started, I went to the doc for my first follow up and got scolded because I had only lost 6lbs. That really set me in a tail spin. You will start feeling better after a couple of months on it. Take care.

Honey, you've only been on the Xr a month. I was on it for almost 3 months before I got Af and 13 before my labs really started to drop. Met is a miracle, but it is a slow-working one.

For me, hindsight and a ton of reading have led me to believe that had I changed my diet sooner, met would have worked better. I was eating in such a way that my insulin would spike, counter acting what the met was doing. Things like ice cream, while they help us emotionally for a few mins, do really nasty things for our insulin and make the met have to work that much harder to regulate your hormones.

Check out the diet forum for tips on how to eat without spiking your insulin, work in exercise as much as you can and give the drug the time it needs to help you. Your hormones didn't get bungled in a month, and they won't get fixed in one either.

Hang in there, girl!
