Question Glucophage

For those of you who have taken this. do you feel it works?
I'm really really confused on medications for PCOS and my endocrinologist sucks at explaining things to me.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

My endo just sucks, so I'll try to help. Met seems to be the most widely prescribed med for pcos b/c of the insulin resistance association. I've been on it since april and have only seen my symptoms worsen, but my lab tests come back normal (except for insulin). My endo said that a lot of women take met and they are able to ovulate and get pregnant right away. Another doc of mine says met is mainly for sedentary women who are overweight, so it may not work for me. I eat very healthy and exercise and have gained 10 lbs. since starting the met. It also makes my stomach swell huge! Hope this helps a little.

I have been taking it for about 8mos and haven't noticed a drastic weight loss, but my clothes are a bit looser, i'm less groggy after I eat, have less sugar cravings, and feel more energised. I used to be sooo exhausted that i'd take a 6hr nap! LOL I would recommend taking it and especially if you are ttc because if your insulin/glucose is off, you have a higher chance to have a miscarriage. good luck!
