Hello All- My mom has PCOS as well, and has already gone through menopause. She has been trying to loose weight through doing a modified L.C. diet and has had some success, but not enough yet. My question is would being prescribed Glucophage help her regulate her I.R. as I assume it is still there. I told her she should just get a consult with an endocrinologist and see what they have to say.

I'd say she should definitely go and have her insulin level tested. If it's high, the metformin will help (which will also help weightloss) and also help her not get diabetes. I'm not an expert, but those are my thoughts.
