Hi All.
I was just diagnosed on Friday with PCOS and my OB wants to prescribe Glucophage(Metformin). Has anyone succesfully conceived on this medication. And were the side effects tolerable?

I've been on Metformin for about two months. Hubby and I haven't conceived yet, but are hoping to soon. *fingers crossed*

I haven't had too many problems with side effects since I started taking it. In the first couple of weeks, I would get diarrhea shortly after finishing a meal. That's it though. Once my body got used to it, the diarrhea came less and less.

Metformin 500mg 2x daily.
Provera 10mg 1x daily for 10 days/month.
Prenatal Vitamins & DHA Supplements.
Started Femara on September 15, 2009.

I've been on Met since December, it brought on AF after about 40 days of taking 1000mg. It appears that I am ovulating as well, though haven't conceived yet or lost any weight. HTH!
