Unhappy glucophage and possibly pg??please respond!!

Hello ladies-
I don't post very often, but I have an important question. I think I may be pregnant, and I have not been taking my Glucophage for a few months now. Should I start taking it again. I am so confused. I really want to do everything possibly to carry this baby(if I am PG)...I have miscarried twice. HELP!! I have dropped my medical insurance... and haven't been to a doctor in quite a while.
I haven't taken the HPT yet...I want to wait a few more days to make sure it's accurate...and I guess I'm nervous I don't want to be disappointed again. If any one knows if I should be taking the Glucophage again please let me know.
Thanks for any responses.
KIMBAR

Kimbar, i'm not a doctor, but my doctor told me that when i get pregnant i wil continue to take the Glucophage for 13 weeks into the pregnancy and thats it. but just to be safe, you need to test and talk to your doctor.

Exclamation

If you are not taking it right now....DO NOT START!

You need to first find out if you are PG.
Then and only with an OK from a dr start up again.

This can have dif answers because I have seen some women stay on it but I hear more being told to stop unless they are type 2 diabieties.

Any time you think you may be PG, please don't start something new or something you haven't had for sometime.
With the new PG tests available 99.9% are acurete even if your only a few days late.(2-4)

With so many women here, it is very comon to go 40-75 days before getting a period. You know your body and your average, so take the test when you think you have past the line.

Please don't start anything untill you know for sure.

Take care,
Patty

Patty - just out of curiosity - if you don't get a period but every 75 days. Should you wait that long to take a HPT??? It seems to me like if you are pg you would want to know before then??

sure you would like to know sooner, but I'm sad to say many waste money on PG test because of it.

If you are regular(you know when AF usually due, then test at that time)
Most women cant aford a HPT every week so they wait.
This is part of the reason it used to be said to wait until you where at least 1-2 weeks late before testing.

Another thing is most baby DR's won't except you until you are min 12 weeks along(7-8 yrs ago)

I have even know women who waited 2 weeks, tested,it came back - so went on with their lives only to discover 2 weeks later they were PG! So anything could happen.

When I first lost my AF a yr and a half ago, my DR ordered a PG test to make sure it would be neg.(After doing BCPs since age 16, I have been reg until my PG)Even though I had my tubes tied 6 yrs ago!(neg of course)

Some women are lucky to even get a period once a year!
While others bleed non stop for several years at a time!
Horrible!!

Hope this helped some,
Patty

Thanks all of you for your responses!!!
I am going to wait to take the glucophage until I see a doctor. I bought an HPT, but will wait a few more days to take it. Thanks again for the advice... it's hard for me to wait, but I guess I don't want to be dissappointed!! I'm sure you guys know the feeling.
