Question Glucophage rash?

Hello fellow cysters!
I have a question about the glucophage I'm taking.
I hope someone can help. My endo put me on Gluco XR 1500
five days ago. I have since developed a rash on my face and chest. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm really upset because I have been waiting over a year to find an MD to perscibe it to me. If I can't take gluco then what else is there
and is it as effective. I'm also trying to get pregnant.
Please help fellow cysters. Thank you.

One of the rare side effects of Met is urticaria (skin allergy).

It might help to reduce the dosage and increase it gradually or take anti-histamines for a few weeks.

I agree, They should not have started you at that high of a dose.
Cut back to 500mg for a week then take 1000mg for a week(maybe longer) then up it again.

This med is very adjustable. So do cut back and try again.
(The antihistimine should help too)

Good luck,
Patty

I also got a rash from the met but I had it ALL over (it looked horrible). I was on 1000 mg per day with 50mg of clomid. I just cut back to 500mg per day and it slowly went away in about 2 weeks. Best of luck with the TTC.

I take 2550 of met and had taken it for a while before I devolped rash on neck and now upper arms. Dermatologist suggested met rash but pharmacist looked it up and said that was never listed as a side affect. It seems to come and go, antihistamines do work if you don't mind sleeping all the time. So glad to hear others with this, there was another post similar to this recently.
