Question Glucophage SR - thick tablet coating.

Hi all,

I was on regular Met for quite some time, eventually it made me ill (extreme joint pain).

I've been on 2x 500mg Glucophage Slow Release for about 9months now and this will sound disgusting so advance apologies! I found I'd take the tablet in the evening and then it'd pass through, whole, the next morning.

I thought that the problem could be the SR coating being too thick, so I started scraping off the coating and taking the tablet that way and finally, they actually stay 'in' me.

I've been told by an ex-nurse that what I'm doing is very wrong.

Obviously I know I shouldn't really be doing this *but* has anyone else had this problem and really, am I at risk of damaging myself by scraping off the coating.

I've not experienced any dizzyness, nausea and AF is now absolutely bang on the money.

Big thanks!
