Hey everybody.

I went to my second RE appt on Thursday and she gave me a script for XR. I have taken reg. gluc. in the past and did okay (Was only on 500 mg) but then had to switch to generic for insurance and was intolerant to it.

She wants me to take 500mg this week, 1000 next, and then up to 1500 after that.

What are the differences in the two (I know XR is extended release, but anything else?)? Is one better than the other. She said I may find the XR more tolerable. Is this most often the case?

Just looking for everyone elses experiences, trying to see what to expect!

I found the XR much more tolerable than the reg. I couldn't stomach the reg one at 1500mg at all. I stayed in the bathroom, I couldn't eat anything without it coming back to visit. With XR, I was able to eat again. Good Luck!
