Question Glucophage VS Metformin

Is there a big difference between Glucophage and Metformin? My insurance is really punishing me for taking the Glucophage XR. Any pros and cons on changing to Metformin?

Organic, Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar (1 tablespoon in 8oz. water 3 times a day) plus 1 tablespoon psyllium husk. Apple Cider Vinegar is AWESOME!! So many uses.

Various herbs and teas for my moods etc. Raw unfiltered local honey. I love the Calming Yogi Tea, what a lifesaver!!

Prenatal Vitamins, Vitamin C.

I am no expert, but I have taken them both and not really noticed any difference. Some women have experienced lesser side effects on the Glucaphage, but some have noticed that they tolerate the met better. What does your doc say? Good luck!

Thumbs up

Hi, I just saw your post and had to reply. Glucophage and Metformin are the SAME medication. Metformin is the drugd "Trade Name" and it's generic name is " Glucophage".
I didn't want you to be confussed taking Glucophage Xr is a good thing because the XR means "Extended Release" formula and it is maintained in the blood stream constantly.

Thank you much. I will go ahead with getting the Metformin instead. I think I will wait to up my dose though for another month. Just in case there is a difference. It will save me a heap.
