I went to the doc yesterday, and he wrote me a prescription for Glucophage XR 850 mgs 2 times a day. The pharmacy said they they didnt make it in 850 mgs. I believe this is wrong. Is this wrong? The doctor said that he wanted to give me a 1500 mgs one to take once a day, but he couldnt find that one some book he looked at. Do they make a 1500mg that you can take once a day? That would be ideal, because the reason my doc wants to switch me is because I forget to take my medicine a lot. I told him if I could take it once a day that would help out a lot.

So does anybody know what doses the Glucophage XR comes in? I would really appreciate any help on this.

Glucophage XR comes in 500 (white)and 750(pink). If you wanted to take 1500 in on day for example you would take 3 pills of the 500 at the same time or 2 of the 750 at the same time. When I was taking glucophage I found that the 750 was easier tolerated by me. No matter how many pills, with the XR it can be taken all at once so it wont be so hard to forget. I hope ya figure it out!
