Default Glucose level!!!!!?????!!!

I had recently got a copy of my ob/gyn doctors records and I've only had one blood test with them done. My glucose level is at 70 and the norm it says on the paper is 65-109 and my insulin level is at a safe level I'd say, I'm not worried about it, it's at 16.4... and the norm for it is 6.0-27.0

Anyways, I was wanting to know if this borderline with the glucose, I don't know how to explain lol. All I know is some cysters on here that were borderline often put on some medchine to help it out, and I forgot the name of it........... But anyways... I don't know a thing about glucose levels or anything cause I haven't got that far in my schooling, I just know what the terms mean lol.

Also I was reading my ultrasound reports, they say that they can't find anything wrong with the ultrasound, BUT the size of my ovaries have changed especially my right one, my left one hasn't changed that much. And they know that there are cyst on my ovaries cause the last time they did an ultrasound nothing came up on it, and they went in and did surgery, and they found all the cyst and the adhesions to my bowel. I'll be having another surgery in July checking for endometriosis and more adhesions since allot of my old symptoms have returned.

Glucose levels are normally tested for indication of diabetes or insulin resistance, in both cases your glucose levels would read higher then the normal values u have listed (that is to say if u were IR or diabetic ur glucose would measure out above 109 - in the case of diabetes MUCH higher, usually the value for diabetes ranges anywhere from 140 to 160 and above.) A low fasting glucose level is not too much to worry about unless ur experiencing hypoglycemic episodes, in which case, an adjustment in ur diet might be required. You don't mention that u are suffering from that, so in actuallity, ur glucose readings are quite good.

When u see cysters who mention they are borderline and being put on meds to control it, they are refering to the upper end of the measurements, not the lower end.

I am diabetic, on medication, and would kill to get my fasting glucose levels below 110. lol.

Take care

Your glucose level of 70 is fine, this is fasting glucose?

It's your insulin level that I am concerned with. Again, was it taken when you were fasting? The INCIID PCOS fact sheet lists anything over 10 as having insulin resistance and anything over 13 as more severe IR.

http://www.inciid.org/faq/pcos2.html#2.10

I suggest you read about Metformin (brand name Glucophage) that is the primary medication for cysters with IR, is that the medication you were thinking of?

What are the "old symptoms" you are trying to correct with surgery? pain or PCOS symptoms?
