Just a word of advice... milk is just as bad if not worse in the AM as juice.. I would steer clear of both as you aren't supposed to be carb overloaded for the test.

The preferences do depend on the lab/office too.

For my 1-hr screens, I have always been told to fast at both my current OB office and my last RE's office. I know other offices that require fasting for it as well. Make sure you ask your doctor and follow their guidelines so that you're not skewing the numbers from their norm.

Other places/labs have a standard of NOT fasting for the 1-hr. In that case the best option is to eat a light meal that is not carb-heavy (and actually toast or cereal w/milk can both have a dramatic impact on you sugar levels). Make sure you have a light protein source to balance it out.

The 3-hr is always fasting to my knowledge.

The best thing is either case is to follow any specific recommendations from your doctor, and then try to eat as typically as you can for your usual diet.

Well I did my test i never got to eat but they never called me back last night so i'm guessing i passed my test that orange drink was great though i loved it!!
