Default Glucose Test Question

I'm still in the "getting diagnosed" stage of PCOS. Today I went for a glucose test. The tech took my blood, went and analyzed it, and came back and asked me if I'd eaten breakfast. I told her, no, I'd been fasting for 16 hours. And then she called my doctor, and he told her that the test couldn't be done. She wouldn't give me much info, but she said my blood sugar was too high. DOES THIS MEAN I HAVE DIABETES?

Did you have the fasting glucose test? Where they make you drink the orange liquid and get your blood checked every 1/2 hour for 2 or 3hrs? My fasting insulin was 13 and my glucose was 225 so I was told I was Insulin Resistant (boarderline type II diabetes)

That's the test they said I couldn't have because my blood sugar level was too high.

Shiprah-
It could mean that you have diabetes. It's ridiculous that the tech didn't give you the results. I have a friend that went to an appt, they checked her BS and it was 450. They diagnosed her w/ diabetes and started her on insulin. Make sure that you hear from the doctor soon about your blood sugar. When your blood sugar is high it can cause damage to your body. Good luck to you!

Amy- I am curious about your blood sugar. Was it 225 fasting? If so, I am suprised that you were only diagnosed as insulin resistance. 225 seems a bit high. Are you taking met or another insulin sensitizer? This will help w/ your insulin level.

HTH,
Jenn
