This Wednesday I'm going for a fasting, 6-hour glucose screen. I've never had one of these before, and I'm wondering what I can expect.

I'm not sure what a fasting 6 hr screening is. That may be why nobody responded.

Do you mean that you fast for 6 hours, and then have a blood draw? Or are they really measuring your levels over 6 hours? I've never heard of a GTT being held for more than 3 hours.

At any rate, I hope it goes well!

DX in June 2001. Sent to endo, who told me it was all in my head.
DX again April 2002. New endo, good doctor, although the staff is not the greatest. Very unorganized!
SX: Hypertension, ovarian cysts, overweight around the middle, infrequent cycles, acne, skin tags.
DX June 2002 as diabetic. Argh!
DX February 2003 with endometriosis.
Current meds: Avapro, Glucophage, OrthoEvra, Lescol, Prandin.
