Smile Glueaphage REAL RESULTS!!

For everyone out their who has given up hope( I was one of you too) Glue. works. My Husband and I have been TTC for over 2 1/2 years. I was diagnoised with PCOS in January 2003. Put on Glue. at the end of Jan. 2003. Had a period in February. Ans did not in March. I am 4 weeks pg.!!!!!!!!!!! I take 500 mg , 3x's a day. I will continue this for the 1st 3 months. There were many times ( at least 24 ) that I wished for no period. It has finally happened thanks to GOD and a wonderful DR. who worked with us closely to find my problem. 6 weeks are really good results, but from the articles I have read, it ( the medicine) is having fantastic results. (NOTE: starting in OCt. 2002 I begin a lowfat diet and by March2003 I had lost 70lbs., thanks in part to GLUe.

My hope to everyone trying. Don't give up!!!!!!!!!!

Default Congratulations!!

Congrats Nana!! I just started metformin on Wednesday of last week. (March 19) I have already lost 3 lbs. since Wednesday and this is only Saturday! I'm really hoping that I lose a lot between now and when I go back home in 8 weeks. Since beginning metformin, I don't feel as tired as I used to which is great. I am hoping to continue to have fabulous results. Congrats again on your pregnancy.

Talking Gluc does work

I've been on it for several months and have so far lost 18 pounds. I've had to adjust to having a period every month but it's no big deal. The endo doc I'm seeing is great and when I mentioned that I might possibly have PCOS he didn't baulk but talked with me about the symptoms and I mentioned that most of the ones I have are not screaming symptoms...but they are definately symptoms. So far so good.

Smile Glad to Hear it's Working

I am so glad to hearfrom you all, It IS a miricle drug to me, I amnow right at the 2 month mark in my pg, and enjoying even being tired and sick to my stomach, because of what it means to be that way, congrats to all the weight loss, I will continue on Met, possibly my whole pregnacy. There are several post thru-out pg cysters that could help. We ( my dr or I) had never thought about needing to stay on it the whole time, but research is showing its oka and better for me & the baby. SO when its your turn ASK ASK ASK questions
I do!!!!

Again keep up the good work

Smile small side affects, but worth it

Just kinda be ready for a few uncomfortable side affects, once I was upt to 3 aday( 500 mg each) I had really bad diarera.
and I woke up several morning throwing up( almost like m/s)
But as you see above it was worth it,
I also lost between 5 & 7 lbs a week on it( with a lowfat diet)

so good luck to you ,

nana

Default Best Wishes!

It sounds like you found just the ticket, and your weight loss/improved health leading up to your diagnosis might have had a profound impact on your fertility or potential fertility. I'm very inspired by that 70 pounds! That makes me want to power-walk around the block, but it's almost midnight! Maybe tomorrow...
I agree with another post that you should check out lots of info about staying on metformin, even a reduced dose, during your entire pregnancy. I've heard it really helps prevent gestational diabetes and other troubles. Best wishes... :o)
Keep at it, cyster!

I have also lost weight on glucophage, 25 lbs so far, and I did get pregnant, whereas before gluc I did not have periods on my own without provera or bcp. Unfortunately my PG ended in miscarriage at 5.5 weeks. But it was much more success then I'd ever have gotten without the glucophage!
