Default Glycemic Index Website

I thought I would share the website I just ran across! It looks really good. You just have to type in the kind of food and it gives the the GI and carb values.

Is is based at the University of Sydney, so those down under may find more specific food items on there, but it does state which country the food is from that they test.

It also appears they are working on a labeling standard for food, which would be really helpful for those trying low carb

Happy surfing!

The site is listed in my Favourites folder both at home and work. It's great having a site that lists foods I find in the supermarket.

And yes, they sure are working on labelling standards!

It's amazing how powerful labelling is. I am a label reader from way back, but the low GI label has me reaching for products that I've never eaten before.

I'm not sure if you are aware, but Professor Jennie Brand-Miller who is part of the Uni of Sydney team also co-authored the book The New Glucose Revolution.
