My doc just approved my increase because 1000 was doing nothing for me and I am scared because I had nasty s/e for about a week or two last time I increased. I know it will get better though. One more question too, how long until you noticed improvments in your symptoms such as acne after increasing your dosage to 1500? Thanks!!!

My Mood: Points: 347.93 Bank: 280.05 Total Points: 627.98 | I started Met in the summer at 750mg. The s/e were not bad for me. Just stayed away from certain foods. I increased from 750mg to 1500mg in October. I expected the s/e to be really bad but nothing happened. Everthing happened internally. I ovulated and am now pg thanks to Met.
I hope you see results soon! And I hope your s/e are not too bad. I hope the acne clear up for you. I'm new to Metformin but I'm a total believer in it! If it can make me ovulate, surely it can help you.

I would watch what you eat. You probably have a good idea what foods give you problems. I would also make the switch when you have a couple of days off. I can't tell you when I noticed a change except that I ovulated that first month.

Points: 4,544.13 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 4,544.13 | I a not sure about taking the met all at once. But when i went from 500mg to 1000mg the s/e were horrible. And when i went from 1000mg to 1500mg i didn't have any s/e. I had af after taking 1500mg for a month and i am now on cycle day 8, we will see what happens. Hopefully it will do the same for you. Good Luck!

Now that I'm on ER, I take 2 500mg tablets in the morning and one in the evening. Ask your Dr what he/she wants you to do.
