I was supposed to call my doctor today for my blood test results. He ran a thyroid profile, and a complete basic panel. Well, I talked to the nurse and she said they were all normal. I called back and left a message b/c I want to talk directly to my doctor. They can't be normal. I can't seem to lose weight, no matter what. Exercise would help, but I don't even think I would lose then. I am active at my job. Why can't I lose? I am on Nutrisystem, and I follow it pretty well. I know there is something wrong with my hormones and other things. Why can't the doctors ever figure it out? I am not "fine" or "normal". I have too much going on. What can I do? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Reason: need to add something to title
I've learned not to listen to nurses they don't have the Dr in front of their name....Ask for an appointment with the dr, ask for a copy of your labs, get the numbers....
there is a great sticky about what levels should be. When i find it again i'll post it back to you if someone hasn't done it already.

I went through something similar and it was frustrating. What kind of doc are you seeing? My GP told me everything was normal. I started crying and told him how frustrated I was that I was gaining weight yet I'm vegan and have low cholesterol, etc. I told him I don't sit in a closet at night eating a cake and something had to be going on. I'm not sure he believed me but he sent me to an endocrinologist who ran the same labs along with more labs re: the thyroid and hormones. (I'm sorry I don't know what the labs were). I went back for a recheck with my endo and she said my labs explained everything. That's when I found out I have PCOS and am IR and had some crazy thyroid labs.
I finally felt like I wasn't going crazy (crazier) and now had an explanation. I have had several friends go through the same thing. There are people on here with much more experience and knowledge and who can explain things but I remember my endo telling me the body compensates for some of the stuff going on and the initial labs can look normal yet they really aren't.
Good luck and let us know what happens.

I would definitely suggest talking to the doctor, make an appointment if you have to. Maybe you fall within the "normal" range but are at the high end.
((((Hugs)))) you are not crazy. Good Luck.

thanks everyone. I have been to an endo before, and he said I had metabolic syndrome, and my thyroid showed some crazy things. The dr. I went to last week did a thyroid panel, but I don't know if he checked two or three of the levels. It was only when all were checked, and the pituitary gland that it showed something. I just don't know. I went to another endo that said there is nothing wrong with me. I just want to know so I went back to my general practioner. He is probably going to refer me to a good internist he knows. I go to a new gyno on the 19th of this month so I will ask him to do the bloodwork to check for the PCOS. Your support means a lot. I feel as if I am posting all the time about going crazy, but sometimes I really feel like I am. One day I will know what I do and don't have and get the right treatment. I just can't lose weight right now. I am on Nutrisystem, don't go wild on my weekends off. I could stand to exercise more but have no energy to do that. Well, feel better now. Needed to get that off my chest.
