Default Going to the doctor soon...

Okay. The next installation of my infection drama!

I'm going home in the next couple of days so I'll finally get to see my regular gyno. He wants to see me anyway to check on how I'm doing with the Spiro, so I figured it's a prime opportunity to ask about my strange infection that may or may not have been BV. I'm less irritated since being treated for BV, but I still have weird, foul smelling discharge and the occasion discomfort while I pee. I also still have pain during sex, which I know can come from an infection.

Since my lymph node has mysteriously been swollen along with the infection, I wonder if it's worth asking him about it? I know he probably can't do anything for it individually but if I do still have an infection, I would bet that's why it's swollen to begin with. Should I just not mention it and bring it up with my GP?

Also, I wonder how I should broach the subject of the infection with my gyno? When I call for an appointment I'm going to mention I think I may have an infection, at least so he makes time for that kind of appointment, but what should I say when I get there? Should I tell the whole sob story about how I thought I had yeast infections and chlamydia and BV?

And is weird discharge a reason to be concerned in the first place? Normally I wouldn't care but at the time I was treated for BV, I had cervicitis and I don't know if that's cleared up or not. I want to make sure I don't develop PID or anything...but I also don't want to be a hypochondriac.

navi, a strange discharge is always a cause for concern. it may be nothing, but it may be something. i think that mentioning it to your doctor is a good idea; it will make you feel at ease and get you treated sooner.
