I started seeing another doctor...I felt like he really didn't know what was up or down...So, I decided to go see ANOTHER doctor in my area..My question for you - my previous doctor told me that I am insulin resistant... I can't remember the lab results but they weree extremely off! Anyway... What I want to know; how much glucophage should I be on? I use to be on Provera but now, DH & I are ttc...So, now what? I am not extremely overweight - I weigh 160 lbs. & I am losing but, what else should I do? What should I expect from this doctor? I want him to treat me with the best of the best ability, but, what do I need to know?...Please help...I am sort of nervous about the situation...lol. Thanks

I'd also tell him about your diagnosis, your symptoms, and where you're at w/managing the PCOS. Mention you and DH are TTC, and tell him how long you've been trying.
With all that info, your Dr should be able to help you develop a treatment plan that meets your goals in terms of managing your PCOS and having kids.
Good Luck!

The best way to determine what you need is to start small for a while then get a blood test to see if you need to up the dose. The minimum effective dose should be taken to reduce side effects. If what you are on now is working, stick with it, but make sure you get regular blood tests to ensure that it is working and that its not damaging other body systems |
